The first phase of this multi-staged project which forms the centre of the south Tottenham regeneration area, created a new public square and bus interchange, replacing a network of looping access roads with a pedestrian only plaza linking the bus and rail stations.

Tottenham Hale Station Square

The tree-like form of the bus canopies, supported by the GLA regeneration team as well as TfL, is intended to provide a distinct identity for the Hale prior to its wider regeneration, in a nondescript urban environment which is currently characterised by low-lying, car dominated retail sheds and poor quality office buildings.

In the longer-term a new entrance to the Underground and Rail network and an associated oversite development will form the new eastern edge of this major new open space.
