Landolt + Brown have been appointed by Hesmondhalgh Homes to develop an extension of an existing two storey building, providing new residential accommodation on a sensitive site close to the corner of Rye Lane, Peckham’s main thoroughfare. The project will create 6 new residential units above a former industrial building, using lightweight construction techniques to minimize strengthening requirements within the existing building. The facades have been developed using layered louvre screens to create a highly textured design with its own distinctive architectural quality, suited to the conservation area setting of this prominent town-centre site.

The project received detailed planning consent in 2019 and is currently at contractor appointment stage, with construction due to start in Summer 2020.
