This phased refurbishment of a 1910 office building in Holborn for Dorrington Properties was completed in 2016. It involved the formation of a new reception area in the first phase, with the more substantial second phase creating a new internal atrium in place of a small internal courtyard, with extensive opening-up of the building frame to provide a greater sense of openness throughout the building.

A new, helical open stair forms the centrepiece of the new atrium, which is enclosed by a new flat glass roof to optimise daylight penetration deep within the building footprint. Building services were also fully redesigned and integrated with the architectural language of the new office and communal spaces.
